JEE Main is one of the most prestigious and widely taken entrance exams in India. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate engineering, architecture, and planning courses in various institutions like NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). It also serves as a qualifying exam for the JEE Advanced, which is the entrance exam for the IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology).

Exam Details:

  1. Conducting Body: National Testing Agency (NTA)
  2. Mode of Exam: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
    • Paper 1: For B.E./B.Tech (Engineering)
    • Paper 2A: For B.Arch (Architecture)
    • Paper 2B: For B.Planning (Planning)
  3. Frequency: Conducted twice a year (January and April), giving students two opportunities to perform their best.
  4. Number of Attempts: A student can attempt JEE Main 6 times over a period of 3 consecutive years (twice per year).

    • 20 MCQs + 10 numerical value-based questions (only 5 to be attempted)
  • Total Marks: 300 (100 per subject)
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Value Questions
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Marking Scheme:
    • +4 for correct answers
    • -1 for wrong answers (for MCQs)
    • No negative marking for numerical value questions

Paper 2A: For B.Arch

  • Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing Test
  • Total Marks: 400
  • Exam Mode: Mathematics and Aptitude are conducted as CBT, while the Drawing Test is pen-and-paper based.

Paper 2B: For B.Planning

  • Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Planning-based Questions
  • Total Marks: 400
  • Exam Mode: Fully conducted as CBT.

Syllabus:

The syllabus for JEE Main is primarily based on the NCERT syllabus of classes 11 and 12 for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Here's a brief outline:

    • Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy, and Power, Gravitation, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, etc.
  2. Chemistry:

  • Online Registration: Candidates need to register on the official NTA JEE Main website.
  • Application Fee:

Results & Score:
